The Rothenberg family from Rockville, Maryland, celebrated son Jack’s Bar Mitzvah at B’nai Israel Congregation in Rockville, Maryland, and the reception at Lakewood Country Club in Rockville, Maryland.
The theme, “Jack’s March Madness” was incorporated everywhere and because of the special date, 3.14.15, special Pi Day elements added to this great celebration.

Mom Shelley and Dad Steve own Talk of the Town, a special events company in Rockville, Maryland, that provides interactive entertainment, props and decorations. The ballroom was everything basketball!
Black lounge furniture throughout the room with orange accents
Basketball pillows and side tables incorporated the theme
The double bar had Jack’s logo on the front and screens on either side of the bar showing basketball videos
LED tables and cocktail tables decorated with custom logos and basketball court table tops
The dance floor was made to look like a basketball court with blue uplighting

Some of the special details included orange pillar and votive candles along with custom cocktail napkins.
The sign-in board was a clear basketball backboard table
Adults enjoyed great dinner stations including sushi, brisket sliders, and a hot dog station with Chicago-style hot dogs and pastrami dogs. Kids enjoyed classic sliders, bacon cheeseburger sliders, chicken and waffles and french fries
Mom and Dad made a special basketball sideline chair for Jack to use during his Horah celebration
MC Spots of Washington Talent was in charge of all the action on the dance floor

The kids had their own area during the cocktail hour filled with basketball entertainment from Talk of the Town Entertainment. Some of the interactive fun included: “Urban Hoops,” “Plunk It” and “Pac-Man Battle Royale.” There was a stilt walker with a basketball hoop, an airbrush tattoo artist and an InstaCam green screen digital photo booth
“Plunk It” gave guests a chance to test their skills
Guests also enjoyed the “Strike a Light” game
In honor of Pi Day, 3.14.15, mini pies and milk shakes were passed for dessert
Kids’ favors were t-shirts with a custom logo. Displayed on a table and under the Step-n-Repeat with the same logo
