The Mitnick family of Jamison, Pennsylvania, celebrated daughter Remi’s Bat Mitzvah at Ohev Shalom of Bucks County in Richboro, Pennsylvania, and a reception later in the evening at Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland, Pennsylvania.
The theme was “Remi’s Ice Cream Shoppe” with accents of purple throughout the details and room decor.
Pictured L-R: Mom Melissa, Sister Allie, Bat Mitzvah girl Remi, Dad Andrew and Sister Macie.
The photographer was Den Sweeney Photography and the rest of the vendor information is listed at the end of the spotlight.
Lauren Cohen of Invitations and More worked with the family. She helped them created an invitation with shades of purple and silver accents that reflected what Remi wanted, but stayed in her dad’s budget!
The Saturday morning service was held at Ohev Shalom of Bucks County. There was a kiddush luncheon held there afterwards.
The tallit was made out of tie-dye lace and Remi chose a junior bridesmaid dress to wear that complemented the colors in the tallit perfectly!
Remi looked great for her party in a strapless beaded and tulle cocktail dress from Party Girls. The colors were lavender with silver and purple beading
Sisters Allie and Macie and Mom Melissa also looked beautiful. The sisters wore flower girl dresses in silver with touches of purple from Layla’s Boutique. It coordinated perfectly with Remi’s dress. Mom Melissa’s strapless gown was from Sposabella Bridal.
The theme was Remi’s Ice Cream Shoppe.
The kids’ place card table with Remi’s friends’ names placed on an ice cream cone. As guests arrived there was an awning that held the place cards made to look like an ice cream shoppe window
Designer Events by Laura took the family’s ideas and made their vision of an ice cream shoppe come to life. Each table was a different flavor and the arrangements, napkins, and chair bows were all the flavor color.
The “Coffee” ice cream table had coffee-colored embellishments to keep with the theme. There were handmade candles that looked like scoops of ice cream on each table
The “Cherry Vanilla” table.
And, of course the “Chocolate” table.
The pastel accents really popped against the white linens.
An ice cream cone sign-in custom designed by House on the Lake on Etsy.com that now hangs in Remi’s room. Remi loved all of her messages
The sign-in looked good enough to eat and now hangs in Remi’s room as a delicious keepsake of the day
Remi’s signature drink, “The Remsicle,” suitable for adults only.
MC Romeo and the All Around Entertainment team made sure everyone had a good time on the dance floor. Remi entered on the dancers’ shoulders.
Remi was all smiles as she reached for one of the hanging ice cream cones.
Kids had a great time playing games.
Remi surrounded by her friends
Remi and her dad have a fun relationship and doing the serious father/daughter dance just didn’t seem to fit. Remi danced with him for about 30 seconds and then she jokingly kicked him off the dance floor. Then the girls took over and all the guests loved it. The girls performed their version of The Bella’s final song “Price Tag/Don’t You Forget About Me” from their favorite movie.
The beautiful purple cake was from Lochel’s Bakery which looked elegant and tasted delicious. Notice the “R” cake topper
Remi chose three candles honoring her candle lighting for the past, present and future. Remi’s sisters lit a candle together.
Since the party took place in June, custom beach towels were the perfect Mitzvah favor.
They all screamed for ice cream! Guests enjoyed Dippin’ Dots at the end of the night, Remi’s favorite.
Remi volunteered in the children’s division of Cancer Support Philadelphia part of Gilda’s Club. She chose this because she suffers from an auto-immune disease and wanted to try and help other children who either are suffering from cancer or who have family members suffering from cancer. This is a project that she plans on continuing because she really enjoyed the time she spent there.
Some advice from Mom Melissa:
“Take a step back from all of the planning and craziness to really appreciate how hard your child has worked to reach this point. It helps you keep in perspective what the day is really about and makes the celebration that much better.”
