The Kandel family celebrated the B’nai Mitzvah of triplets Jason, Riley and Abby with a service and Kiddish luncheon on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Temple Sinai in Roslyn, New York. The celebration in their honor took place at The Space, in Westbury, New York, a concert and event venue. The triplets decided to have their party on Sunday, February 28th with an Academy Awards/Oscar theme in the afternoon so guests could go home and watch the Academy Awards later that evening.

The triplets raised money for Cycle For Survival, a annual cycling event held at Equinox gyms around the country. The event took place at Equinox in Roslyn, New York and it’s celebrating its 10th year. Abby, Riley and Jason’s uncle, Dr. Ross Levine is a researcher at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center working in the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program (HOPP). Cycle for Survival has over 31,000 participants all over the country and raises money for rare cancers through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with 100 percent of the money raised going to research. This years upcoming ride will take place on March 4, 2017 and Team HOPP will continue to raise money in the triplets name. Abby, Riley and Jason are inspired by their uncle’s work and chose this as something that they enjoy raising money for and will continue to each year.
Mom to Mom Advice from Mom Marcy
“Even though planning a Bar/Bat or B’nai Mitzvah is a major milestone in your child or children’s life, remember is just a party. It’s supposed to be a lot of fun and I tried to take it one step at a time. As a full-time working mother I made sure I planned well and managed my limited time well to ensure that I didn’t make the event too stressful for my family. Also as a mother of triplets only, this B’nai Mitzvah is my only chance to do this so I tried to make thoughtful choices and not be wasteful with time or money for anyone involved. I had a great time and so did Corey and the kids! That is what we will remember forever! “
