Reid’s Game Day

Reid’s Game Day

Reid’s Game Day

Reid, like many 13-year-old boys, wanted a sports-themed Bar Mitzvah but his mother had a slightly different vision. Melisa Imberman from The Event of a Lifetime found a middle ground by discerning what was most important to Reid and his mom. She created the concept, Reid’s Game Day, giving Reid the party of his dreams by including all of his favorite sports and key aspects of them while also satisfying his mom by presenting it in a more sophisticated way than she ever imagined.

The Loading Dock was the perfect blank canvas to transform into an elevated sports experience. By using unexpected colors of green, black and slate, this sports party instantly developed a unique and sleek vibe.

When guests entered, they were greeted with poster-sized photos suspended from the ceiling of Reid playing various sports, escort cards with table assignments at a team line-up board, and an acrylic sign-in board replicating Reid’s favorite player’s jersey.

After guests took in all of the eye candy in the gallery, they headed to cocktail hour. The kids’ area was arranged as a sports arcade, while the parents’ area mimicked a sophisticated sports bar.

When guests moved to the main room, their eyes were drawn to the dance floor that was covered with a large decal of a soccer field. It looked like turf and had one of Reid’s logos in the center with his tagline, ReFuse to lose, on the sidelines. The kids’ lounge was arranged like a locker room with leather furniture, a fun, cool “bar” and lockers with jerseys and balls. The adult side of the room was sleek and sophisticated with slate textured linens and centerpieces that included real soccer balls and cleats as well as Reid’s logos and taglines.

The immersive 3-sided photo booth replicated a basketball court, but in Reid’s colors and branded with his logos.

The giveaways were plentiful with branded t-shirts and hats given out on the dancefloor. Before the kids left, they found a backpack branded, Rule the Field, in their cubby, and inside was a black branded sweatshirt. Gameday exit treats were served at a concession stand as guests left for the night. The Event Of A Lifetime scored big with this party.
