Many Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations include a traditional candle lighting ceremony, where special people in the child’s life are called up to light a candle on the Bar or Bat Mitzvah cake, until all 13 (or more) candles are lit.
The team at Mitzvah Market is always searching the internet to find new and creative ways in which families are incorporating this wonderful tradition into their reception.
We love the creativity of the idea below!
This wonderful “Mitzvah Inspire” is courtesy of photographer Terry Goodman of Platinum Photography Ohio. Her client, Bat Mitzvah girl Hillary, opted to do something different, and instead of a traditional candle lighting ceremony, she had groups of friends and family members help her “bake” her Bat Mitzvah cake!
Each of the special people were invited up to add another ingredient, such as flour, an egg or butter to Hillary’s mixing bowl, until her mix was complete. Hillary’s batter was sent back to the kitchen to “bake” as the Bat Mitzvah celebration continued. Before the party ended, her beautiful cake, topped with an edible shopping bag to reflect her party’s theme was displayed for the guests to see.
