Action for Post-Soviet Jewry has been assisting Jews in the former Soviet Union since 1975. Since the Soviet Union fell apart, we have been working to assist Jews in a dozen cities in eastern Ukraine, as well as Jews in Bobruisk, Belarus, and Kishinev, Moldova. Our main project is Adopt-a-Bubbe (or Zayde), which provides assistance to pensioners with food, clothing, and many other items. We also maintain contact with Jewish Day School students in the cities we serve and link Bar/Bat Mitzvah students in the U.S. with youngsters in Ukraine.
